Community Change Action Engages More than 6 Million Voters in 8 States

[Nationwide]–Community Change Action has engaged more than 6 million voters through our ongoing electoral campaigns in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada and Wisconsin. With 35 days until Election Day, the majority of the work is happening online and remotely to mobilize Black, Latinx, immigrants, women and young people.

Last week, we mourned the loss of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and saw how her legacy inspired hundreds to take action. During Community Change Action’s weekly relational organizing texting party, we trained more than 400 people on how to talk to their peers about the election and how to get involved. In total, volunteers sent 17,570 text messages to more than 15,000 people encouraging them to request their ballot and vote as soon as possible.

This week, we turn our attention to the first presidential debate in Ohio. Our partners in the state, Stand up for Ohio, will host a live debate watch party, along with PLAN Action Fund and Community Change Action at 7pm EST. During the virtual event, Stand up for Ohio will text likely democratic voters, ages 18-40 and invite them to join our GOTV efforts.

This week in Arizona, LUCHA will host a virtual debate watch party and discuss their plans to turn Arizona blue. They will also launch their television and radio ads targeting Latino voters.

In Florida, organizers and volunteers sent more than 10,000 text messages to friends and family and made more than one million phone calls.

In Michigan, voters and supporters contacted nearly 60,000 voters in one week through phone calls and text messaging.  This week they will host another virtual texting party and launch their vote mobile, where they will drive around displaying artwork and handing out information about candidates.

In Nevada, Spanish language television ads in Reno and Nevada are on the air ahead of the first presidential debate and just days before mail in ballots hit mailboxes. Our partners on the ground, have been educating voters about the safety and ease of voting from home.

Win Justice Wisconsin announced a six figure Spanish-language television and radio ad buy in Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay that will run through Election Day. Listen to the Spanish radio ad here. Watch the Spanish TV ad here.

The voter contact work in Florida, Minnesota, Nevada and Wisconsin is part of the Win Justice campaign that includes Community Change Action, Planned Parenthood Votes, Color of Change PAC, SEIU, and our local partners and affiliates.
