(Michigan) – As we enter an unprecedented and newly energized election cycle shadowed by growing economic concerns nationwide, it’s more important than ever to keep a finger on the pulse of what’s moving voters. Michigan, home to several key voting districts, often serves as a bellwether of electoral outcomes across the country. Knowing how swing voters in Michigan are feeling is essential to understanding the bigger picture of what we can expect come November.

On Wednesday, August 14, Community Change Action and Community Change Voters will host a media briefing to provide an inside look at the top electoral issues and voter attitudes we’re seeing in Michigan, a key state to win the election, and the organizing work there that will be instrumental to turning voters out in November.

The briefing will feature Community Change Action experts on the electoral landscape, as well as speakers from Michigan Liberation Action Fund and Michigan United Action who do deep voter and community outreach and organizing work in some of the most hotly-contested districts in the state – specifically with voters who are low-income, Black, brown, immigrant, impacted by the criminal legal system, women, and young.

At this roundtable, you’ll learn more about electoral attitudes in Michigan, the ways Community Change Action, Community Change Voters, and their partners can be resources to you throughout this election cycle, and how grassroots groups are organizing for change locally and nationwide — and have a chance to ask questions.
