One Racist Out, Many More to Go

Millions of voters are casting their ballots and millions more are peacefully protesting in cities across the nation. Iowa is one of nine states holding a primary tonight. Rep. Steve King’s political career is stained by his racist rhetoric and xenophobia. Sulma Arias, Immigration Director at Community Change Action, issued the following statement in response to Rep. Kings loss:

“Voters nationwide are making their voices heard through peaceful protests, demanding justice and respect for Black lives. People are angry and determined to effect change in their communities.  Iowans have chosen to unseat Steve King, whose xenophobia and blatant racism has destroyed millions of immigrant lives. Voters chose unity tonight.

Bye, Steve King. One racist out, and many more to go, including the one who hides out in his bunker.”
