Win Justice Coalition Announces National Director for the 2020 Election
Color Of Change PAC, Community Change Action, Planned Parenthood Votes, Service Employees International Union Launched the $30 Million “Win Justice” Campaign to Expand the Electorate in Key Battleground States

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Win Justice coalition announced their National Director, Kenia Morales, who will lead the $30 million campaign across four key states. The campaign will mobilize at least three million infrequent voters of color, young people, women, and union supporters in four key battleground states: Florida, Minnesota, Nevada, and Wisconsin. Color of Change PAC, Community Change Action, SEIU, and Planned Parenthood Votes make up the coalition, along with local regional partners across each state.
“We are in a fight for our nation, and it is imperative that Donald Trump be a one-term president. From Day 1, the Trump administration has demonized and targeted the very front-line workers, and Black, Indigenous and people of color communities currently calling for justice right now. Our communities must make their voices heard this November,” said Win Justice National Director Kenia Morales.
“I am honored to lead the Win Justice campaign and I am hitting the ground running. It is going to be a sprint to the finish line from now until Election Day. We know it will not be easy amid the backdrop of a global pandemic and as state governments decimate access to our democracy by cutting polling places and restricting vote by mail. We also know that these attacks are disproportionately experienced across AAPI, Black, Latino, and Native American communities — so it is more important than ever that we build an effective program to ensure that these key voices are heard. The Win Justice partnership has the power, the energy, and the tools to make a winning difference in this election, and I’m thrilled to bring my record of earning grassroots victories and empowering local communities to the campaign,” Morales continued.
Kenia comes to Win Justice from America Votes, where she has served as the Nevada Director since 2016. In her role, Kenia has brought together allies to advance progressive policies, win elections, and protect the right to vote. Among her many accomplishments in the state, Kenia managed the strategy and coordination efforts that resulted in electing the first Democratic trifecta in Nevada in more than 20 years and successfully led the AV coalition to defend against Republican state senate recall attempts.
Kenia has deep roots within social and reproductive justice movements across the United States and Latin America, and brings a strong intersectional lens to electoral campaigns, with a deep commitment to being anti-racist. Prior to joining America Votes, Kenia served at the Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR) where she worked alongside Latina women to advocate for reproductive justice issues and lived in New York City where she organized at the grassroots level on issues of policing reform and policing accountability.
As many states shift primary election dates, modify polling places, and move to mail-in ballots, Win Justice has already launched a program large enough to directly impact infrequent voter turnout in each targeted state. Win Justice will work to make voting accessible while combating systemic voter suppression and will be particularly focused on the impact of vote-by-mail on historically marginalized Black, Latino, and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and will engage these voters so they exercise their right to vote.
The Win Justice PAC builds on a successful collaboration in the 2018 cycle when Win Justice organizers and partners knocked on more than 3.4 million doors, achieved 80 million digital impressions, sent more than 2.1 million texts, and made more than 800,000 phone calls in Florida, Michigan, and Nevada combined, increasing Democratic turnout by one full percentage point.
