Our
2020 plans

Organizing is the art
of the possible.

Lorella Praeli

In 2020, Community Change Action is focusing our resources on states and districts where voters of color can help provide the margin of victory in presidential, congressional, or state races. These are also places where we can build on investments from previous cycles and long-term relationships with community-based partners.

  • Eight presidential battleground states (Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico),
  • Six key US Senate races (Georgia [2], Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan),
  • Eight to ten U.S. Congressional Districts in six additional states (California, Illinois, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington), and
  • More state legislative races and other down-ballot campaigns.

A Bold, Inclusive, and Caring agenda

The COVID-19 public health crisis has made it impossible to ignore the deep, structural flaws in the rules that govern our economy. Even as the pandemic has made our interdependence more apparent, we are forced to confront the stark differences in our abilities to weather the economic crisis caused by the pandemic. Although all of us participate in the creation of wealth in our society, a wealthy few capture most of these riches. The rest of us live one illness, one recession, or one piece of bad luck from economic ruin.
