House Passes Budget Resolution, Steps Closer to Aiding Millions of Families

House Democrats voted to move the Senate budget resolution forward, thus keeping the $3.5 Trillion package. Dorian Warren, Co-President of Community Change Action issued the following statement:

Today, the House passed the $3.5 trillion budget resolution that is a blueprint to lift America’s working families and protect immigrants, including undocumented youth, farm workers, essential workers and TPS recipients. This budget blueprint will ensure that millions of families can put food on the table, afford child care and keep a roof over their heads. It will help families build a nest egg where they don’t have to worry about the next emergency. At Community Change Action we have been organizing with these families and national and local partners across the country to ensure that Democrats continue to fight for us throughout the budget process. This blueprint for eventual budget legislation is a sign that they plan to follow through on their promise to voters to lead our country in a better, bolder direction–one that centers the needs of ordinary families and workers, not the rich and big business. We will hold them to that every step of the way.
