This Will Create Massive Cuts to Medicare and Medicaid

(WASHINGTON)—The Senate voted late Thursday night to pass its budget resolution, paving the way for them to pass tax cuts for the wealthiest of Americans and corporations. The cuts will lead to massive cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, harming millions of working families that depend on these essential programs.

“Today, Republicans are congratulating themselves for being one step closer to giving their wealthy friends tax cuts, which they fully intend to create by taking billions away from Medicare and Medicaid,” said Dorian Warren, President of the Center for Community Change Action. “Republicans continue to refuse to see how devastating their policies are to everyday Americans.”

“CCC Action will continue to work with their partners nationwide to make sure Republicans know exactly how much this budget resolution will hurt families,” Warren added. “While the wealthiest of Americans are rejoicing, working families are terrified as they try to figure out how they will be able to afford health coverage. For some, it will literally be a life or death situation.”

“Working families must be the priority in this country,” Warren said. “Republicans need to understand that.”
