Putting Families First: Good Jobs for All on Storify

American families are struggling to make ends meet.  What we sometimes call poverty or inequality – and what people at the kitchen table call “not being able to provide for my family” – is rooted in our failure as a nation to provide good jobs for all. While investors extract a growing share of wealth from the economy, falling wages, high unemployment, and systemic barriers to hiring and promotion deny opportunity to millions of Americans.

America needs a bold new economic agenda to get our nation back on track. The Putting Families First: Good Jobs for All campaign is a national economic justice initiative built on a simple, audacious idea: everyone who wants a job should have assured access to a good job that provides dignity, a voice on the job, fair wages, good benefits, and is consistent with family and personal needs and responsibilities.

Today, CCCAction, Working Families Organization, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Center for Popular Democracy and Jobs With Justice are launching the campaign to do just that. Follow the event live on Facebook and Twitter using #FamiliesFirst.
