Our movement of providers, parents, and supporters is stronger than ever, but we need elected leaders who will pass solutions for a new way forward. We are in an era of economic crisis on multiple fronts, and child care consistently weighs in as the highest or second-highest bill for families.
We have an opportunity this election to flex our growing power. Together, we can use our voices and our votes to demand the childcare system we and our economy deserves.
Across the country – in cities and states that will make the difference this election – we are coming together on October 23 for Community Change Action’s National Child Care Voter Day of Action. We pledge to make 2024 the child care election and be childcare voters.
For too long, childcare providers and parents – especially women of color – have been shouldering the burden of our economy without anything to show for it. We are coming to this election well-informed and tightly-organized to ensure that the leaders we elect prioritize a care economy and put our livelihoods first. That means:
- An equitable system built on racial and gender justice
- Thriving and livable wages for childcare providers
- Affordable childcare for all
- A monthly fully expanded Child Tax Credit for all
We Care, We Vote!
