Our Work

Community Change Action builds the power of low-income people, especially people of color, to change their communities and the country. We believe that everyone should have the freedom to thrive, with a basic level of income, quality child care, universal health care, and a place to call home — no exceptions.

We believe that the principle of radical inclusion should inform new rules for our political economy and that innovative government should focus its power on fostering a fair distribution of wealth. Right now, we’re empowering the people most affected by injustice to lead movements to improve the policies that affect their lives.

These principles are the heart of a different common sense — an alternative to the logic of unfettered markets and the concentration of economic and political power among predominantly white, male elites. They inform our issues, our approach, and our focus on true democracy.

Organize

We build people power through multi-racial movements led by Black and brown people, immigrants, and women.

Vote

Structural change will only be possible with an electorate that looks more like the country, so we are building a large-scale political operation of, by, and for communities of color.

Change

We win policies that improve lives right now--even as we work to change the structures and systems that perpetuate injustice.

A Bold, Inclusive, and Caring agenda

The COVID-19 public health crisis has made it impossible to ignore the deep, structural flaws in the rules that govern our economy. Even as the pandemic has made our interdependence more apparent, we are forced to confront the stark differences in our abilities to weather the economic crisis caused by the pandemic. Although all of us participate in the creation of wealth in our society, a wealthy few capture most of these riches. The rest of us live one illness, one recession, or one piece of bad luck from economic ruin.
