Featured Partner: Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) AngelicaSalas “My daughter asked me: ‘What do you do all the time that takes you away from me?’ I said, ‘You and I love each other so much right? And we wouldn’t want to be apart from each other at all. Well, there are laws in this country that take little girls like you away from their mommies.’ If you love your children, if you love your family deeply, and you know that our immigration laws can just tear you apart from them, you just have to believe that’s so wrong. FIRM is the strongest immigrant rights network in the country, and I feel really proud to be a member. It came out of an agreement by many organizations – some that weren’t immigrant based, but who understood that if we were going to move forward an anti-poverty justice agenda in this country, then immigrants had to be included in that fight.” – Angelica Salas, CHIRLA Executive Director

What We Do
The Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM) is the nation’s largest coalition of immigrant rights groups. CCCAction is a member and convener of this leading voice in the immigrant rights movement.
To fight for immigrant rights at the local, state and federal levels, CCCAction works with FIRM partners to educate and register voters, lobby national and state leaders, mobilize support for our political allies and organize opposition to candidates and legislation that hurt immigrants.
